» Look Inside The Book

Here is a big, oversized hard cover book given to attendees of the U.S. Brewers Association convention in New York City in 1885. The U.S. Brewers Association (as opposed to the Brewmasters Association) consisted of owners of breweries throughout the country. The book is a formal publication of a speech made at the convention by New York brewer Henry Clausen Jr., in which he outlined the development of brewing in America, and of the U.S. Brewers Association. The speech is interspersed with collages of portraits of USBA directors and prominent New York brewery owners. A very nice (and rare!!) relic of the 19th century American brewing industry.
