Here is a copy of the 1910 edition of the Brewers Hand Book.

In the years before Prohibition, the Brewers Hand Book was issued annually by the publishers of the Western Brewer, the leading trade journal of the American brewing industry. The bulk of each book consists of a directory which lists every operating brewery in the U.S., arranged by state and city. For each brewery, there is a street address and a notation as what styles of beer it produced (lager, ale, porter, etc.).

In addition to the directory, there is also a list of American brewmasters (and the name of the brewery in which they were employed), a directory of hops dealers, a directory of malt dealers, and a variety of tabular data helpful to brewmasters.

On nearly every single left-hand page is an advertisement for brewing equipment, ingredients, brewery services, etc, etc. -- kettles, pumps, barrels, hydrometers, architects, etc., etc.

The book contains hundreds of advertisements.

These slim-stytle, soft cover Hand Books are extremely rare, presumably because they were well-used and thus tended to become well-worn, but also because each edition was likely to be disgarded as the new edition appeared each year.
