It is the second edition of this title, revised and enlarged by English brewery engineer and architect Frederick Colyer. Chapters are arranged by major functions/departments of the typical brewery. Includes 20 plates showing plans and sections of various facets of breweries and malthouses (or, "maltings," as they were called in England). Contains a fantastic list of patents related to brewing from 1635 to 1880. Also contains tables of useful measurements for brewery materials, containers and machinery.
