This nifty little book was issued by the United States Brewers Foundation in 1949 to better familiarize the public with beer and brewing. THis is the 1953 revised edition. Gives a very nice and brief history of beer, then focuses on beer's role in society in post-World War II America. Talks about the operations of a modern brewery plant, agriculture, distribution, beer taxeation, and concludes with a history of the United States Brewers Foundation. Also includes a few helpful appendices: Production of Beer In America 1863-1952, Per Capita Beer Consumption 1863-1952, Leading Agricultural Products Used in Brewing 1915-1952, and several others. A very nice piece of brewing history.
