| Description: | An advertising print from 1895 for the Wainwright Brewery of St. Louis, Missouri. This poster promotes the brewery's Buck Beer, i.e. Bock Beer. The poster features a large goat's head with an American flag. The goat, of course, is the traditional symbol of Bock Beer. Also present are depictions of hop vines and barley stalks, representing two of the primary ingredients in beer. At lower left, in very small letters, appears the name of the lithographer: "Heinicke-Fiegel Litho Co. St. Louis." |
