NOTE: This is the rare expanded 1931 edition of Guinness Dublin. The great majority of editions that have survived are the small 5x7 editions with 71 pages. This scarcer 1931 edition measures 7.25 x 9.25 and contains 107 pages.
This fabulous book was published by the St. Jame's Gate Brewery, Dublin, makers of the world famous Guinness Extra Stout. The book was given out as gifts to visitors of the brewery. It begins with a nice history of brewing in Ireland, then focuses on the Guinness story and the complete history of the St. Jame's Gate Brewery up to the time of publication. Includes dozens of fantastic old photographs of the brewery's interior and exterior, and closes with a color print of the Guinness bottle label on the final page. Truly a wonderful piece of brewing history, and fairly rare.
