Note: | This brewery in Port Huron was founded in 1856 and passed through several different owners until 1877 when beer-maker Christian Kern took over. The Kern brewery produced beer until 1919, when prohibition forced its closure. The brewery re-opened after prohibition. From 1945 to 1950, the brewery was operated under the name "Friars Ale Brewing Company." |
