» Look Inside The Book
Here is a set of 3 books issued by the U.S. Brewers' Association: - Proceedings of the Sixty-First Annual Convention (1936)
- Proceedings of the Sixty-Third Annual Convention (1938)
- Proceedings of the Sixty-Fourth Annual Convention (1939)
The books were published to serve as a complete record of the goings-on at the conventions of the USBA for the respective years. They contain the text (and some visuals) of each of the speeches and presentations made by officers and other attendees, the various topics discussed, motions proposed/carried, committee reports, etc. The books also contain a fair amount of statistical data related to beer and brewing, in the form of fold-out charts and graphs. Also included are a number of photographs of officers, meetings, and social events during the conventions. The 1936 edition contains 167 pages, the 1938 edition contains 224 pages, and the 1939 edition contains 145 pages. Each book measures 6.50 x 9.25. USBA convention books from this era were presumably published in very small numbers, and are certainly very scarce. These are the first examples we've seen at BeerBooks.com of USBA convention books from after prohibition. Oddly, the pre-prohibition editions are somewhat more common.
