Here is a neat biography of Erwin C. Uihlein who served as president of the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company from 1933 to 1961. As a grand-nephew of company namesake Joseph Schlitz, Uihlein represented the third generation to head the mighty Milwaukee brewery. This heavily illustrated book begins with the story of Joseph Schlitz and the five Uihlein brothers who ran the Schlitz brewery throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, focusing on August Uihlein, the father of Erwin. The narrative then shifts into a detailed look at Erwin's personal story -- mainly his travels and education during World War I and National Prohibition that would prepare him to take the reins of the Schlitz brewery upon Repeal in 1933. Finally, the book focuses on the current (1961) state of the modern Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company, told mainly through an abundance of illustrations.
