In contrast to the many technical brewing guides that had been published throughout the late 1800s, Julian Baker of the Stag Brewery, South Wales, created this wonderful laymen's guide to beer and brewing in 1905. It includes an illustrated description of the various processes involved in beermaking, as well as a brief discussion of brewing history and the tied-house system. A good, solid study of the condition of brewing in England in 1905, and very scarce.
