» Look Inside The Book
Most of America's largest 19th century breweries (and certainly all of those in Milwaukee) were popular tourist attractions. The brewers were happy to have the public tour their plants, and they often gave away colorful commemorative booklets to tourists. This gorgeous 1893 book was issued by the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company and given to visitors of their famous Milwaukee brewery as "A Token of Remembrance" of their tour. The book features a short history of Schlitz, 26 pictures of all departments of the brewery, and another 10 pictures of Schlitz Park in Milwaukee and the Schlitz Hotels. Bound with a read braided string. A beautiful piece of brewing history!
