Item #1779
True, this is a book. But, really, it is far more of a brewery artifact. It is an oversized (8.5 x 13) volume published for brewmasters to record the daily details of their brewings. The first 94 pages contain articles and data for quick reference in the brewhouse. The remainder of the book consists of dated spaces for diary entries, these pages interleaved with brewing related advertisements printed on pink paper. There are additional ads at the rear of the volume. The large size makes for strikingly handsome volume, with its bright gilt lettering against the navy cloth hard cover. Item would make a nice addition for any serious collector of either books or breweriana.
CONDITION: This particular copy only contains a few handwritten entries in the diary, with all other diary pages left blank. Covers shows light wear as shown in pics. Pages have some light age-toning. Rear hinge has a light crack, but is still holding strong and tight. Overall, a very good copy.
